My little book of dreams

I have always wanted to write. From the day I first started reading I was hooked. When I was a child and Harry Potter came out I found an obsession that I couldn't get rid of. In those books was everything from magical castles and wizards to heartbreak and love. Every fantastic and wonderful thing and all of them created by bits of ink on a page.

The problem is I am not a very good writer. Everywhere I go I have my little black book. It has no marks on it and it looks very plain. However, my book is my little book of dreams. It started as somewhere to write down all of the crazy experiences I have had before or when an idea popped into my head in a dream. They would all get written into my little book.

Now I bring it everywhere with me. It is more important to me than my mobile phone or my wallet. It is full of random thoughts or what the world is like. The world, by the way, is full of strange things and incredible people. Every day has something unique and weird just waiting to be discovered a little bit further down the road.

My book is amazing because it lets me capture all of those tiny things and capture them before they can float away. So far it has the start of a fantasy novel, the ending of a love play, and poetry I have written in different languages.

I never thought I would ever write poetry in Spanish! It is crazy!

For me, this book is more than just a lot of words on paper. It is one million different possible stories, in thousands of different worlds and made up of a hundred different fragmented thoughts. It is my special possession.

What is your special possession? What book made you love reading?

I have a great diary in possession. Well, it isn't just a diary of entries. I just scribble whatever I want. Doodles, remainders, silly ideas, all goes inside my diary. And... What book got me interested in reading? Manga magazines translated into English. Yeah, it's true. Those were one of the first books I read, including other comics like Tinkle, Magic Pot, and other magazines for kids. And, geez, I'm not so sure, my mum said I started reading when I was two. But the novel that got me so hooked to reading is Matilda. Hats off to Roald dahl!!! :)))

I read it, and watched it on TV as well. Oliver's adventure!
By the way, are you writing a story about your friend? Seriously?
Well, it might be interesting to write about my friend as well and share the stories later…
What do you think, iva?? But first I'd like to read your story though.

Hi Saionji, can I just ask you a simple question? Don't you keep a diary every day…?? ^_^
Well..., in my case, between you and me, I would keep my diary in the dummy desk drawer(!). I was good at hiding stuff away and finding the lost or hidden things. Think about it, the drawer itself was a secret place, so it never happened that I forgot my secret (double secretes)! But indeed, it was resourceful of you to write in the opposite side!
Oh, it reminded me when I was younger, I secretly hided my will in the top shelf of my room! Of course, I threw it away after a while. Hey, Saionji, I'm curious to know... what kind of things did you keep diary except school stuff??

Hi ken ,
Although I don't let anyone to see my diary , I'm still thinking that it's better to show it to my father , because my father is my friend too , but I'm kind of ..scared to do that, do you think that I should show it to him ?because I don't like to have secrets between me and dad
well.. I write about what new songs I've learned to play in the piano and I just.... you know ,my diary diary is my friend "and I gave it a name!" so I write in it exactly as I'm talking to a friend and telling him\her what happened on that day ,so it depends on the day !

Hi Saionji,
It's an interesting idea, maybe your dad will be delighted to know more about you which he cares a lot in his heart….only if you make sure not to get him mad or down(!) You know, I like my girlfriend just the way she is, so I'd like to see her diary instead of mine! I'm honest to a fault…., then I sometimes feel 'I don't wanna hurt any more…' Do you ever feel like that, Saionji??
Well, I like the way you try to build a true relationship with your dad and it seems to me that he's like a sort of 'Master Jervie' in "Daddy Long Legs"! It's a lovely story, isn't it?!

Well....I can't remember that I felt like that, and I don't think that someone'll hurt me ,everyone is very polite and kind with me . (If you get hurt by someone try to find excuses for them . For example if adult said a word that makes you feel sad, keep telling yourself that one day you'll get the benefit ) that'll make you feel much more better!

Good for you, Saionji!
Will you tell me more about 'try to find excuses for them' and 'get the benefit'?? For example, what kind of benefits will I be able to expect when I get hurt….? Does it mean 'take things rough' ??

Hi Ken,
What I mean is " if adults said a hurtful word , they are doing this for you, that means you made a mistake so when you know your mistake you'll never repeat it , and this is the benefit

How nice to have a 'diary' friend! I used to share my diary with my girlfriend, I just wanted to tell my everyday event and what I thought and felt about it. But, she didn't show much interest in such a boy's anecdotes and was more interested in her everyday chats with other friends and her family. That hurt my feelings a bit..., but I know she's a typical girl, so now I'm a good listener! As you say, Saionji, my experience tells me it would be better to keep a diary for my own sake! :-)

you know it would have been better if you have shared this book not only by reading it both but by persuading your girlfriend to write down her own part , she would feel more involved then and that would make a great bond between you , you would read it when you feel the need to and that would hold memories from both of your lifes . I actually used to do so with my best friend and now every time we get together we hold those books with us and we start reading them and that make us feel great ...

I started writing because sometimes I just sit in my room and having nothing to do . But after I started writing my diaries I couldn't stop it even if I have exams and my diary is my ''real'' friend.
I can write my experiments and then after long years I start to read my own writings, it's amazing !
Someone could say that the same routin repeats every day , it can be right but your feeling for something you can think that isn't important but when read it after long time you'll be glad you add those details !
It is impossible to share my diary with anyone even my best friend , do you?

Hi Hadia,
Thank you very much, I'll tell one of my experiences with my diary.
I thought that someone would read my diary ,so I wrote in the opposite side of my diary , and wrote some school stuff in the other side!
I usually put my diary in my school bag in a pocket with lock ,but one day I was writing and suddenly my sister came into my room so I put the diary under my pillow quickly !and forgot it there .
The other day my father came to my room and said that they will change all pillows because they are old , and he took the pillow , I nearly dead I forgot to put the diary back in the bag . When dad saw me very surprised he thought that I write something bad so he opened it ,but thanks god he opened it from the side that contains school stuff and close it . have you ever got a similar experience?

Oh wow Saionji! You were lucky that your father wasn't able to read what you wrote..........Well I haven't got such an experience but I am always very conscious about it's safety. My brothers (especially) always want to read the stuff inside it. Once , one of my bros took it out of my cupboard, fortunately I came at the spot and then do you know what I did??? I started shouting and crying! He was very naughty so he started running and I was after him....then my parents came and I said my father to say him to give it back to me...and then dad scolded him!!!!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I really start laughing whenever I recollect those moments! Especially at the time of scolding when my bro made faces towards me and gave me a tough look! Saying me sorry ironically! LoL! it was so funny.......I really had an amazing experience

Oh what amazing and funny experience you had ,you know what? to avoid being in such embarrassing experiences I think that we do not have to tell anyone that we do keep a diary.
