In any listening exam there is a lot you can do to prepare yourself before the teacher plays the recording and you actually listen to the text. If you are well prepared before you even hear the first word of the text, you will do much better in the test.

Before a listening exam I usually read the questions, then I try to keep calm and not to think about anything in order that I can understand what I am going to listen.

Hello everyone,
I would like to say that before any listening exam we have to prepare all materials that we need and keep clam. Then I read question many times to get the idea of that this will help everyone to do better in exam.
I read the questions many times so I know what I am going to listen to. However, I really have this problem of not being able to hear the record well. I am worried about the ILETS exam.

Hi melikerior,
This section is all about how to do listening exams well, but there aren't any audio recordings for you to practise your listening here. You can find lots of listening practice in the Listening skills practice section. Try the listenings in that section to practise for your next exam. :)

it's very usefull for me
Well, I clear my mind, and try to keep calm before it, and concentrate about the topic.
before the listening test, i make a sheet of all the hard words that i feel that i'll hear them so that, i could remind them when i hear them quickly .
First take a deep breath, second read the questions and thrid try to guess the answers, this is a very good idea ´cause sometimes the questions make sense to the answers.
Before listening exam, I always read the listeninf exercises carefully. Read the questions, senteces and I make some prediction about the answer. I always prepare paper and pencil to check note information which I can listen.
Everytime I get listening exam, I prepare myself like this ,, Read all the questions carefully and take a deep breath and start having it ,, That's all ,,
I'm little bit scared of listening exam..but,these advices make me stronger for tomorow test. Sometimes, there are trick questions on listening exam, and you just need use your imagination to guess the answer, that is good part of test. You can play with situacion. I sometimes do that. Try it too! ;)
My main problem in listening exams is pronunciation, when I hear the words I feel that it's new , but it isn't! and that's because we were not taught properly in school. So I am know working on this and when I learn a new word before knowing its meaning I look for its pronunciation.
Thanks
before the listening test I often glancet at all the lesson
Before a listening exam, I usually read the questions. I then try guess the answers before the teacher plays the CD. Reading the questions allows me to know what are the informations I must find out during the listening test.
Hi Lunashine,
That's a great idea! Reading the questions and having a guess at the answers even before you hear the audio is an excellent plan. Thanks for sharing your advice. :)
