Last year, I went WWOOFing (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) at a beautiful organic farm in the south of La Réunion. With WWOOFing, volunteers exchange their time and work for food and board.
I live on the top floor of an apartment block overlooking the ocean. Just across the road is a bakery overflowing with croissants, fresh bread and fancy baked treats.
The streets are alive with anticipation. A parade of young, old and all ages in between move along the seafront. The crowd's pulse beats in time to the rhythm of drums.
Saying goodbye to home is never easy. But the more I travel, the more I realise that “home” can be in many different places around the world.
